INGREDIENTS
3 cups wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
2 cups buttermilk

METHOD
Combine dry ingredients.
Add buttermilk.
Turn mixture on floured board.
Knead lightly.
Shape into loaves.
Cut a cross on each loaf.
Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes at 375oF
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
This bread is very nice toasted. It can be served with eggs, bacon and/or sausages (hence the name 'Irish fry). As a child going to school in Ireland, this was a regular daily breakfast for me.
