Marc-Antoine Bérubé started playing violin at the
age of eight. Over years of classical music playing, he was introduced
to traditional music by his open-minded teacher Bertrand Lamoureux.
After one year of jazz violin lessons ( in which he played more irish
music than jazz ), he took Irish fiddle lessons with Paul Legrand at
Siamsa and began going to sessions in Montreal.
In the last few years, he co-hosted sessions with
Belfast Andi, played live for Global TV and Radio Centre-Ville. He volunteered
to play for for Bernadette Short's irish Dance classes and played for
the 2007 Montreal Feis.
His band, Corsaire, plays live gigs,
mainly on the south shore of Montréal. They play for festivals and
various events.
Marc-Antoine Bérubé also has a bachelor degree
in percussion from the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. He also
teaches and plays percussion in Montréal.
